Fitness

Keeping fit has always been a large part of my life and it is essential to maintain a good routine so that you keep happy and active. At College, I was always a passionate hockey player however, when that chapter ended I wanted to start a fresh and get involved in something new. When I started at the University Of Bristol, I decided to start rowing and it ended being one of the best, life-changing experiences of my life.

Rowing is a sport which requires determination, motivation and team working skills that I never thought were possible in a teenage girl. It teaches you to be disciplined (particularly during drinking bans) and makes you a real team player. Most importantly, it has engraved the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and eating the right things at the right time.

I, like many other teenage girls went through a stage where the thought of eating carby foods (breads, pastas, rice) was a big no no. At University, my diet changed as pasta and potatoes are a staple part of a students diet, but I still didn't eat enough. When pushing yourself to your physical limits - the importance of eating a well balanced diet shines through and therefore I can not stress enough the importance of a balanced diet.
I will be posting some work outs that I do to keep fit and will give tips and advice on prevention of injury.
