About

Hello! Welcome to Eats Fruit & Leaves. I am an active student with a real passion for home cooking and clean, healthy foods. I hope you will enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing it.

When people ask me what my hobbies are, I always say the same things: I enjoy art, music, sport and food. Painting portraiture is a way for me to express emotions through mediums; singing and listening to music relaxes me and my main sport, rowing is a true passion of mine that I took up at University, which has become a routine that keeps me fit and healthy. Yet, when it comes to food - the only way I can prove to people I like it is by simply eating it. I wanted a different way of expressing my love for food by making a blog. Here, I can record the foods I eat, create new recipes and talk about my experiences with different foods when I eat out in Bristol.

I have spent many hours reading through various health and fitness magazines, telling us what we should/ should not eat. Quite frankly, it seems to change month on month and can be very confusing. However, I have learnt a lot and I now 'get it,' so want to post my response to these healthy eating crazes without the calorie counting and cutting carbs.

There are three things that I believe makes my blog different:
  • Good value - The foods I use will be basic, well priced foods that can be bought on a budget.
  • Nothing fancy - You  wont have to visit the nearest health shop to try and source the latest 'superfood' which is unavailable from most supermarkets.
  • Simple Goodness - I'm no Nigella, but being brought up by my mother who is an exceptional home cook, I will provide easy to understand, quick healthy foods which will fulfil you and taste delicious.
Happy reading and have a lovely day!
